Akkeshi 2022 Seimei Peated

SEIMEI Single Malt Peated, meaning "light and bright," is the seventh whisky in the "24 seasons" series from the Japanese AKKESHI distillery. It heralds the arrival of spring, when flowers bloom, butterflies dance in the blue sky, and a refreshing breeze blows.

The label illustrates the moment when swallows, having spent the winter on the warm islands of Southeast Asia, cross the sea to reach Japan. SEIMEI returns to the AKKESHI lineup this time, standing out as a perfect example of their style. Sweetness and peat blend beautifully. Like Islay whiskies, the distillery is located by the sea, just a few meters from the Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by marshlands, it has direct access to local peat. You will appreciate the unique smoothness and fruity flavor of AKKESHI whisky.

Nose: Sweet notes of melted caramel, vanilla, and manuka honey enhance AKKESHI's already complex profile with a mix of citrus and smoke reminiscent of local soy sauce.

Palate: True to the nose, with honey and hints of white pepper that elevate the experience, typical of the AKKESHI style. As a bonus, there’s a fruity and fresh citrus note with yellow lemon.

Finish: The iodine-rich peat adds structure and a long finish.
