Kilchoman 100% Islay 12th

100% Islay is one of the purest and most authentic Scotch whiskies available. Everything happens here, at the distillery itself (and in the fields immediately surrounding it): from the growing of the grain to the finished product bottled on site.  

The 12th edition is 8 years old (minimum), a blend of 35 casks distilled in 2009, 2010 and 2011: 29 casks of BOURBON and 6 casks of SHERRY OLOROSO. The base is the distillate of the Publican barley variety, like all Islay 100% the peat content is 20 ppm..

NOSE: Intense sweet pipe smoke, followed by waves of freshly cut strawberries and candied lemon peel. Lighter notes of orange blossom, soft toffee and cloves.

PALATE: An initial note of dark chocolate and roasted nuts, light tobacco smoke, toffee and date notes accompanied by subtle peat smoke.

FINISH: Long and evolving with cinnamon and liquorice wood, bitter chocolate candy and earthy smoke..
