A smooth, balanced and very drinkable whisky. Aged entirely in first fill bourbon casks, this whisky has a unique richness and extraordinary depth of flavour. Bottled at 58%, Langskip is Wolfburn's finest.
NOSE: Aromas of fruit blossom mingle with dried apples and light oak. In the background, traces of sultanas and dates mixed with rich fruitcake.
PALATE: Flavours burst onto the palate, rich and sweet, including maple syrup, dark chocolate, almonds and sultanas.
FINISH: A very nice finish - the vanilla notes fade gently with a trace of warming caramel at the end.
The name Langskip is Scandinavian for "longship" - the Viking raiders that once dominated the Caithness coast. Wolfburn's home town of Thurso is said to be named after the Norse God of Thunder Thor.
